Dear colleagues, fellows and associates,
the 38th Croatian Seminar for Foreign Slavic Studies Students will be held in Dubrovnik from 24th August to 5th September 2009. The programme of the Seminar will be rich and diverse in content. By attending the classes, language exercise courses and seminars of their own choice, our participants will be given the opportunity to improve their knowledge of the Croatian language and to study various linguistic, literary, historical and cultural topics. The core of the plenary programme are the cycles of lectures: this year's linguistic cycle is titled The History of the Croatian Language and the literary cycle The Literary Practices of the Seventies. Our participants will be introduced to recent developments in the Croatian culture.

Programme of the 38th Seminar
There are five main modules of teaching Croatian Studies topics which the Zagreb School employs for the specialization of foreign Croatian Studies students: language exercise courses and seminars, a translation workshop, theme cycles of lectures, cultural events and field trips. Lecturers in charge of the lectures, language exercise courses and seminars, as well as various programme coordinators are in most part members of the Department of Croatian Studies, but also lecturers from other departments of the Zagreb Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, as well as lecturers of the University of Zagreb and other Croatian universities.
